Ducane 30558501 Meridian 5-Burner Natural Gas Grill

Comment: I recently received the grill which arrived in a timely fashion and was packaged great. The problems started right after the initial gas hook up and the "planned" test burn of the new grill. The grill does come w/ directions on how tr hook up the grill's supplied natural gas line to your existing gas line. A very simple process--especially for me having 24 years of plumbing experience. The required gas pressure of 7" column of water which equates to .26 psi of natural gas does get to the burner valves, however a couple (two) burners will not stay lit no matter what I do. You can literally manually light the burner with a lighter and watch them go out. The burner valves are defective. I contacted customer service and immediately they claimed the gas supply line is improperly hooked up. After speaking to several different representatives, one even hung-up on me, I was told the problem is due to my existing gas line. I have an improper piping hook-up. They are so full of it. The customer service is terrible. I am sick of them simply placing the blame on the gas line hook-up. I will be returning this grill

Comment: So far I love this grill. However there are two things I dont care for much. One is the vent in the back of the grill is much to large.
So keeping heat in the grill is difficult with the lid closed. So indirect grilling does not work as well as it should. The second thing is the rotisserie cannot be left in the grill, as it uses to much space. Other than that the grill cooks excellent.

Comment: Wow! I am impressed with my new grill. Right out of the box, this grill was only a few minutes away from cooking. What little assembly was required, took only a few minutes to put together using the easy to follow instructions and a couple of common household tools. This is a very heavy grill because the manufacturer did not skimp on the stainless steel! Hot, hot hot! Be careful, if you are not used to cooking on a high-end grill, you will burn your food! Speaking of cooking, if you are accustomed to cooking on a cheap little grill, you will be swept off you feet when you upgrade to this larger grill that evenly distributes the heat over the entire cooking surface. Comment: This is a great grill with lots of features. It is a discontinued model and unfortunately lacks parts availability. Also, Ducane will not convert ANY of their grills. They say you must sell your grill and buy another one if you want to change type of gas. My guess is the retail public and their sue or be sued attitude has caused this. The lack of parts is VERY disappointing.
