Summary: Marinade Injector 2008-08-30
Comment: Great product. Fraction of the cost of the "Cajun Injector" and I have no doubt it is every bit as functional. Will be buying more as stocking stuffers this year. You can't go wrong with this injector.

Summary: Messy item 2008-07-08
Comment: First, don't buy this except on sale; I got it for $3.99, and I wouldn't pay a penny more for it. There are several features in particular that I don't like. The first is that you need a fairly sufficient amount of marinade in order to get it to draw any fluid. Because of its design, the fluid has to be at least 3/4 inch deep; any less and it is about impossible to get it to pull up the liquid. That means you have to plan to use the marinade on the outside as well as the inside of the meat, or you just plain have to be cooking for an army.
The second thing that I noticed is that none of the spices draw up, only the liquid. I couldn't get it to pull up any seasonings at all for injection, which is another reason you have to be planning to baste your marinade on the outside. Third, there is leakage in using the injector, and with an oil based marinade, this gets messy to use in a hurry. Fourth, while this will go in the dishwasher, getting the plastic chamber to be clean is another matter. I ran it twice and finally had to clean it by hand. All in all, if I had to do this again, I wouldn't.
July 9 update: After my first use, I noticed that the plastic cylinder split at the bottom where the needle attaches. I was careful in using this product, and this is just junk. Don't waste your money on this.

Summary: Very nice item for BBQ 2008-06-19
Comment: I purchased this item in hopes that it would be heavy-duty enough to last and go through dishwasher (note; it really does not tell you if it is dishwasher safe) and to my surprise it went through my dishwasher pots and pans cycle with no problems; ie. works like a charm.
I would recommend this to everyone wanting to have tastier foods and easy clean up.

Comment: This cooking tool is better than those sold in stores because the hole is large enough for marinades with particles in them like garlic to go threw without any problems.
