Comment: Vermont Castings VCS5007N 5-Burner Natural Gas Grill, Stainless Steel and Black I BOUGHT VM658KP-5 PROPANE GRILL - I FELT BETRAYED THAT NO PLACE ON AMAZON DID IT MENTION MADE IN CHINA - IT SHOWS IN THE QUALITY OF STAINLESS STEEL,THE PAINT QUALITY WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THE IGNITOR BUTTON YET JUST DOES NOT WORK. IT SEEMS UNFAIR WE HAVE EVERY THING IN OUR HOME MADE OVER SEAS
AND WE ARE LOSING JOBS IN THIS COUNTRY!!!! I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS HAD I KNOWN IT'S ORIGIN.

Summary: Best Upscale Grill Deal Ever! 2008-09-15
Comment: Bottom Line: This grill sells locally for twice as much even on sale. Yes, it is last year's model but I saved almost a thousand dollars so I am pleased have purchased a solid grill like Vermont Castings that will last and have incredible features. Trust me, it will take a few hours to assemble, so just keep the many well-packed boxes separate when you unwrap it so you don't mix up the packages of screws. The instructions are clear. It is a fabulous grill so just assemble it over two or three days as it may take five hours altogether. Make sure you meet the delivery men so they can place it where you want it as the total package is very heavy. The delivery company calls you to set up an appointment and service was excellent; just plan ahead for a place to assemble it. If you have a strong friend to be there when it comes that would be a plus but not necessary. You will love all the features and rotisserie, cutting board, extra burner and huge cooking surface with high BTUs which is what you really want and why you pay more money. This item sold out almost immediately to people who knew great grills at a great deal. Probably soon you can get a great deal on an all stainless steel one so that will really be terrific. Mine was a wedding gift to a new couple so I couldn't wait plus I saved a thousand dollars and it arrived quickly! Really a top-of-the line product that will last.

Comment: I found it fairly easy to assemble as long as you are patient and follow the instructions. It took me about 7-8 hours. 1 electric screwdriver with a couple of bit long/short, phillips/slotted is all you need. You are really just assembling the cabinet as the grill head is one single piece.
Once assembled all worked well except the starter. No spring but I got that at a Vermont Castings dealer for a minimal fee and Amazon was quite gracous in handling my complaint regarding the defect.
OK the grilling. It seems to be able to hold a steady temp anywhere from 200-700+. So you can slow cook, sear, etc. When your'e done cooking just crank it up to 700 turn all residue to ash and brush it away. A snap to clean.
All in all at the price $606 it was a great value

Comment: My item arrived 2 days ahead of schedule. The number of boxes... alittle overwhelming. The instructions were easy to read and everything went together nicely. I had the 3 burner for 4 years prior to this, but it was destroyed in one of this years storms. This 5 burner is awesome. All the burners worked first try. The slideout tank is nice. just alot of great features on this grill. Not to mention it makes the deck look nice. Best money i spent this summer.

Summary: incredible grill 2008-07-14
Comment: When I recieved the 290 pound packinge it was a bit overwhelming , but as I opened the boxes and carfully read the instructions, I discovered an incredibly well designed grill with a wonderful sophisticated design.
It was not hard to assemble but it took about 5 hours total over a few days . The parts were well packaged and the instructions were forthright.
The best part came after assembly. I had thought of buying a Weber 320 but a friend had this one and the cooking was sensational,.so I opted for it.I have never grilled so much,or,so well.I felt like Bobby Flay. I have done fish; salmon and tuna ; some incredible pork marinate (see Fine Cooking summer gilling magazine); an incredibly marinated garlic chile flank steak ( see cooks summer grilling magizine) ;and some of the finest grilled chicken I have ever made ..The grilled corn and vegetables come out incredible from this amazing grill..It is not only worth the money , Amazon's great price made it a no brainer,when comparing the Vermont Castings to the Weber..I recommend the grill to all serious summer outdoor chef's. I'm sure even Bobby Flay would be impressed ..When is the Throwdown?..Buy one and enjoy!
